1956 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible
I purchased this car in Warwick, RI, in April of 1982 for $1,200. It was a basket case, but very solid undercarriage and floors. It still retains its original frame. Car was built at the GM Atlanta, GA plant. Last time it was registered was 1968. I collected many N.O.S. parts in the 32 years it took to restore it. The engine is a 1958 N.O.S. (yes N.O.S.) Corvette fuel injected short block I bought about 20 years ago. I have the receipt when the person bought the engine in 1958. It now has a 270 hp 2x4 WCFB set-up, Muncie 4 speed and 3.55 "P" case Positraction rear. Drives better than new. It was worth the wait.
